• Smoky Odor: A strong, smoky, or burnt-asphalt smell, even when no fire is burning, often indicates creosote buildup or condensation on the liner.
• Visible Cracks: During a professional inspection, a camera scan may reveal cracking or gaps in the flue tiles.
